We met Tara back in 2017 when we were pregnant with our first child and she has been our midwife for all our four home births. Tara is professional, supportive, caring, understanding and very knowledgeable.
We have created a bond that will last because she has been beside us through the best and most important parts of our lives.

Tara has been my midwife for two of my three children now, and I can say with confidence that I trust her more than any obstetrician I’ve had so far (and I’m a nurse!). She is extremely experienced and has the knowledge it takes to safely deliver babies! My second daughter was a textbook delivery with no complications, but my third daughter came with a lot of unforeseen events. I bled for two months on and off and was certain I would miscarry. Tara not only monitored me closely but emotionally supported me and reassured my doubts as best she could. She was open and honest about the reality of possible miscarriage but did everything she could to help. By the grace of God, we did not miscarry. Five months later, I went into labor during a horrible flu. Although the labor itself was difficult, she intervened where necessary and guided me in the direction needed for a safe delivery. Her critical thinking skills helped us avoid a hospital birth, with the possibility of many interventions. November 21, 2015 we welcomed our beautiful Alannah. Tara was teary-eyed and it felt like she was a family member sharing this amazing moment. If we ever have another child, I have no doubt in my mind that Tara will be by our side. Tara is wonderful! She has been the midwife at my two home births, one in 2014 and one this week; I could not be more pleased! Tara is highly trained and skilled, caring, compassionate, honest, and loves her work. I have always felt safe in her care. And in the moments where I was certain that I could not make it through the births, Tara was a reassuring presence that I COULD do it. 🙂 I will always be grateful to her and look forward to many more home births with her!

Tara Stevens helped my husband and I deliver our first child, and it could not have been a better experience for us. Prenatal visits were excellent. Tara made us feel confident through her professionalism and comfortable with her calm demeanor. She supported and guided us every step of the way, and when it came time for our baby to come, there were no surprises. She had prepared us for every scenario. Through my 27 hour labor, she was encouraging and positive. Even during the afterbirth (my placenta did not want to detach completely) she handled the potentially life-threatening situation with appropriate urgency and yet maintained her calmness throughout. The emergency was dealt with and I was still able to stay at home and enjoy our precious new baby.
Tara is completely qualified and competent, and I would not have had anyone else with us on our life-changing journey.

Tara is every first-time mom’s dream come true for prenatal care. She is patient, kind, thorough, knowledgeable, and, most of all, passionate about what she does. When I called her early on in my pregnancy crying, stressed out, convinced my pregnancy had ended because I was having nightmares that the baby had died she let us come in (on her day off!) just to hear the baby’s heartbeat. She came to the door barefoot, in comfy clothes, smiling, reassuring and warm. We listened to the baby and sat and talked about the nightmares, and left feeling completely comforted, reassured and loved. That is just one example of how far above and beyond Tara goes for her clients. You will NEVER experience anything even close to the level of care at an ob/GYN’s office that you will receive at Beautiful Births! She is one in a million!

I’m so glad I picked Tara to be my midwife. She was amazing and made me feel very comfortable. Her 1 hr appt times made me feel like all of my questions could be answered and it allowed for a good rapport to be made. My actual birth experience was amazing and felt so much more personal. Tara is absolutely AMAZING!!! My first two boys were born, at home, thanks to her. I don’t think I could have had a safe, unmedicated birth, let alone TWO of them, without her. She is a calm force in the midst of all the crazy hormones and worries that confront you throughout pregnancy. When it is time for you to give birth, she is there every step of the way, a strong pillar to lean on, keeping things calm and ready for that amazing moment when your child comes out. After the birth, she is still there for you as you transition to mommyhood. You can tell she loves what she does, for it shows in her work.
If any of my friends or family ever consider a home birth,, Tara is the person I would recommend, hands-down. 🙂

Tara was amazing! I never went to any of my appointments ever doubting her capabilities as a midwife. My husband and I were very pleased to have her be our midwife after our initial visit. She was the only midwife in the Springs area that even replied back to us when we were doing our search. I knew then that she would be a perfect match. Appointments were detailed and educational for me and my husband as our daughter was our first child. Tara has this amazing spirit that made me excited to go to my appointments and heart my baby’s heartbeat. We made sure that we had a backup plan in case anything should go wrong.
When I went into labor I had her assistant, Emily, (also amazing) as my doula. She stayed with me the entire time I was in labor and contacted Tara when she thought that it might be time for her services. I knew upfront that if Tara for some reason decided to leave that it was because labor wasn’t progressing or that it wasn’t close for my little girl to make her appearance. When she first arrived she did a vaginal check, checked my blood pressure, and heartbeat. She made sure that both myself and my baby were okay. She talked to me and let me know how things were going that she would leave and come back in a few hours to see how I was progressing. Once she came back she checked me again. Still hadn’t progressed much further so I believe she left again and when she came back she stayed until my daughter was born.
My experience with Tara was wonderful. She made sure to explain to us how things were going and what to expect upfront. I will definitely be hiring both Tara and Emily when we decide to have our second child.
I will suggest Tara to any and all friends or people I run into looking for a midwife in the springs. She was amazing and a blessing to have helped bring my baby girl into this world. We will forever be grateful.
